Algerian Army Chief of Staff General Said Chanegriha will be on an official visit to India from February 6 to 12.
During his visit, the top Algerian military chief is slated to attend the inauguration of Aero India 2025 in Bengaluru and engage in discussions with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
He will also be participating in the Defence Ministers’ Conclave, themed ‘BRIDGE’ – Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement’, aimed at strengthening strategic ties.
Additionally, he will hold key meetings with counterparts on the sidelines of Aero India.
In New Delhi, General Chanegriha will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial and will be accorded a Guard of Honour.
He is scheduled to meet Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan and Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh.
As part of his visit, he will tour several military institutions, including the Defence Image Processing and Analysis Centre under the Defence Space Agency, the National Defence Academy in Khadakwasla, and INS Hansa, India’s premier naval aviation training establishment.
He is also expected to visit key defence and aerospace establishments, both public and private, including BrahMos Aerospace, Goa Shipyard Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, L&T Defence, and Bharat Forge.
General Chanegriha’s visit underscores the deep historical ties between India and Algeria, paving way for continued military collaboration.
It is expected to further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and enhance engagement on matters of mutual interest.
