The Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps carried out a live firing demonstration in the challenging high-altitude terrain of Sikkim along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), reaffirming its commitment to combat readiness in one of the country’s most strategically sensitive regions.
The exercise featured the Pinaka Multi-Barrel Rocket Launch System (MBRL), an advanced indigenously developed artillery system known for its precision and destructive firepower. Capable of firing a salvo of 12 rockets in under 44 seconds with a range of 40 to 75 kilometres, the Pinaka showcased its ability to deliver high-volume, concentrated strikes to neutralise threats in difficult terrain.
The Trishakti Corps demonstrated seamless coordination between infantry, mechanised units, and artillery, focusing on swift mobility, precision targeting, and rapid deployment. Simulating real-time combat scenarios, the drill tested the Army’s ability to respond effectively to emerging threats in high-altitude warfare conditions.
The Indian Army continues to strengthen its preparedness along the Northern Borders, ensuring that despite border agreements with China, its defences remain vigilant. With an ongoing focus on modernisation and indigenisation, the Army remains committed to maintaining a robust defence posture in extreme conditions like those along the LAC in Sikkim.
