The Supreme Court has allowed Nikita Singhania, the wife of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash who died by suicide in December last year, to retain custody of their four-year-old son.
The decision came after the court had earlier this month dismissed a plea by Anju Devi, Atul’s mother, seeking custody of her grandson. The court ruled that Anju Devi was “virtually a stranger” to the child, stating that custody should remain with one of the parents whenever possible.
