Two highly decomposed bodies were found in a home in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, by the police. The bodies, believed to be of a father and daughter, were found stuck to their beds and believed to have been there for several months. The police made the discovery after the neighbours complained of a foul stench emanating from the house.
The police took possession of the bodies and sent them to Kilpauk Government Hospital for a full post-mortem examination. Investigators were trying to determine whether it was suicide-murder, though a man suspected to be involved in the deaths was later arrested by the Avadi police.
According to sources in the police, the accused was living in the house with the father and daughter and was in a live-in relationship with the daughter. During questioning, he reportedly confessed to having pushed her to the ground during an argument, leading to her death. “During a domestic quarrel, he pushed the daughter, and she subsequently fell on the floor and breathed her last,” a police source revealed.
The father, an elderly man suffering from multiple health ailments, was also found dead inside the apartment. The accused, however, did not confess to killing him. The police suspect that he may have died of natural causes, but further investigation is underway.
Following the daughter’s death, the accused reportedly fled the scene, fearing arrest. Shockingly, the bodies remained inside the locked apartment for an estimated four to five months before they were discovered.
The accused, who hails from Kanchipuram, holds a medical degree from Vienna. Investigators are now piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the deaths, while awaiting post-mortem reports to determine the exact cause and time of death.
