Two students studying at Ashoka University in Haryana’s Sonipat were found dead in the intervening nights of Friday and Saturday, police said. One of them jumped off the 10th floor of the hostel building, while the other one was found dead near the university gate.
Dhruv Jyoti Sahu, 20, a resident of Telangana, ended his life by jumping from the 10th floor of the hostel building where he used to stay, Sonipat ACP Vipin Kumar said, adding that he was a second-year undergraduate student.
“Around 10 pm on Friday, we received information that a student fell from the 10th floor of the Ashoka University hostel building. We reached the spot. He was a second-year undergraduate student from Telangana,” he said.
Around 2:30 am on Saturday, the body of Vignesh Guda Sah (19), a second-year undergraduate student from Karnataka, was found near the university gate, the official said.
Following this, the university informed the police, who arrived at the spot and began investigating the twin deaths. A suicide note was found at the spot.
Police sent the bodies to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
The family members of the victims were informed about the incident.
