The Income Tax Department, on Tuesday, conducted searches at multiple locations linked to prominent filmmaker Dil Raju on charges of alleged tax evasion.
Sources revealed that raids were conducted across eight locations, including the homes of Dil Raju’s family members.
According to official sources, not just Dil Raju, who is also the chairman of Telangana Film Federation Development Corporation, raids were also conducted at locations connected to other filmmakers and their associates. Income Tax investigation officers searched Dil Raju’s residence in Ujas Villas in Jubilee Hills, as well as other properties.
Raids were also conducted on ‘Pushpa 2’ producers Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar, and the offices of Mythri Movie Makers.
The raids were undertaken as the department suspects alleged tax evasion. Multiple premises were being covered, they said.
Dil Raju, officially known as Velamkucha Venkata Ramana Reddy, is a well-known figure in the Telugu film industry. He is the founder of Sri Venkateswara Creations, a renowned production house. The recent Ram Charan-starrer super hit film ‘Game Changer’ was produced under this banner.
