Vehicle movement will remain restricted on Atal Setu on February 16 because of a marathon. The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police Department has suggested alternative routes for commuters

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Sewri-Nhava Sheva Sea Bridge, also known as Atal Setu, is set to remain closed for 14 hours.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) announced that the 21-km-long connecting bridge will remain closed from 11 pm on February 15 to 1 pm on February 16.
Atal Setu is the longest sea bridge of India which connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
The Navi Mumbai Traffic Police issued a notification informing the closure of the bridge for all vehicles except those which belong to emergency services and are related to the marathon.
The bridge has been closed in the wake of a marathon which is set to start at 4 am on February 16 and continue till 12 pm. The marathon will cover the route from Shivdi, Mumbai, to Chirle, Navi Mumbai.

Outlining the restrictions, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police in its official notification said, “Commuters travelling to Navi Mumbai, Pune, or Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) via Atal Setu will need to take alternative routes during this period.”
Routes To Remain Restricted On February 16
Atal Setu (Shivdi-Nhava Sheva Sea Link) will remain restricted and vehicles won’t be given entry during the event.
The ramps which will be affected in Nhava Sheva Traffic Division are Mumbai to Shivajinagar, Ulwe (Descent) and Shivajinagar, Ulwe to Mumbai (Ascent).
The ramps which will be affected in Uran Traffic Division are Mumbai to Pune (Descent), Pune to Mumbai (Ascent), Nhava Sheva to Mumbai (Ascent) and Mumbai to Nhava Sheva (Descent).
Here Are The Alternative Routes
- Vehicles from Uran can take Gavan Phata → Uran Phata → Vashi to reach their destination.
- Vehicles from Pune via Atal Setu can use Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway → Belapur → Vashi.
- Vehicles from Old Mumbai-Pune Highway, Konkan, and Panvel should proceed via Gavan Phata → Uran Phata → Vashi.
- Light vehicles from JNPT should take Gavan Phata → Ulwe-Amra Road → Vashi Creek Bridge.
There are chances of heavy traffic on alternative routes via Thane-Belapur Road and Sion-Panvel Highway.
“During the temporary closure, traffic police and MMRDA officials will be deployed at key points to manage diversions and guide commuters,” read the notification.
Which Vehicles Will Remain Exempted From Closure?
Ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles and other emergency service vehicles will be allowed to use the restricted routes.
