The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has moved the Calcutta High Court seeking permission to use public address system at its chief Mohan Bhagwat’s event in the state’s Burdwan district this Sunday.
The RSS moved the court after the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government denied them permission to use the public address system at the Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat’s public meeting in Burdwan, creating a fresh political flashpoint between the Mamata Banerjee government and the saffron outfit.
The permission to use the public address system or loudspeakers at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) grounds was not granted by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, citing the ongoing Class 10 board examinations in the state. The Jan Sabha of Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled for February 16.
The court will hear RSS’s plea on Friday.
