Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA from Gudur, Pasam Sunil has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to appoint his son, Nara Lokesh, as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
The suggestion comes months after the TDP-led National Democratic Alliance formed the government in the state.
Pasam Sunil’s statement has sparked discussions within the party, with several leaders echoing his call for Lokesh’s elevation.
Former Pitapuram MLA and TDP in-charge for the constituency, Satyanarayana Varma too made statements showing his support for Nara Lokesh to be named as Deputy Chief Minister for the state.
“What’s wrong with demanding that Lokesh become Chandrababu Naidu’s deputy? Jagan Mohan Reddy’s followers call him Chief Minister, Chief Minister, don’t they? Similarly in Jana Sena they want Pawan Kalyan to become the Chief Minister,” he said.
Lokesh currently serves as the national general secretary of the TDP and holds the portfolio of Minister for Information Technology and Human Resources Development.
Meanwhile, Jana Sena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan, who is currently the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is part of the coalition government along with the BJP.
