IPL 2023:During a net practise in Chepauk, the two can be seen playing similar strokes such as front foot defence, rear foot flick, coming down the track, and lofting the ball right over the bowler’s head in a recent CSK video.
IPL 2023 Net Practices
The addition of Ben Stokes to the Chennai Super Kings batting lineup has undoubtedly brought extra firepower ahead of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League.
The England Test skipper, who hasn’t totally recovered from a knee injury, may not be able to bowl in the first few games but will undoubtedly bat. Stokes is the latest southpaw to join the CSK squad, joining Devon Conway, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, and Ravindra Jadeja.
Jadeja has been with the CSK team since 2012, and he was instrumental in their title wins in 2018 and 2021. When it comes to the top current all-rounders, both Jadeja and Stokes have always been mentioned.
As a result, it’s not surprising that the two used extremely similar strokes at the last CSK net session in Chepauk. It’s all the same, front foot defense, rear foot flick, coming down the track and lofting the ball straight over the bowler’s head. Take a look at this.
Stokes joins CSK after missing the previous season of the league due to a hiatus from professional cricket. Since then, the England international has become England’s Test captain, as well as retiring from ODI cricket.

On Friday, March 31, Chennai will kick off their IPL 2023 campaign against the reigning champions Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
CSK finished 9th in the points standings previous season after winning their fourth IPL title in 2021, winning only four of their 14 matches.
Gujarat, on the other side, won the title in their inaugural season, finishing first in the league stage before defeating Rajasthan Royals twice in Qualifier 1 and the final.
