I vehemently reject the assault on him. I ask for God to speed up his healing. The chief minister ordered top crime branch officials to head straight to the scene to start the inquiry.


The minister was on his way to an official event when the cop opened fire near Gandhi Chowk, Brajrajnagar, according to the police. The minister was shot by assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gopal Das, who is stationed at the Gandhi Chowk police outpost, according to sub-divisional police officer (Brajrajnagar) Gupteswar Bhoi. However, it is still unknown.

According to his yearly property declaration on December 31, 2021, the Health Minister, one of the wealthiest members of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Cabinet, claimed total assets of Rs 34 crore, including those in his spouse’s name. In his testimony, Das stated that he and his family owned 80 automobiles, most of which were commercial, in addition to having a revolver, a double-barreled pistol, and a rifle.
